Wordpress Safety: You Can Learn It Fast

I have had two WordPress blogs hacked into in the past. That was at a time when I was doing very little internet marketing, and until I found time to address the situation (months later), these sites were penalised in the search engines. They were not removed, but the rankings were reduced.

By default, the latest version of WordPress is pretty secure. The development team of WordPress has considered anything which may have been added to some fix hacked wordpress site plugins. In the past , WordPress did have holes but most of them are stuffed up.

Do not depend on your internet host - Many people depend on their web host to"do all that technical stuff for me", not realizing that sometimesthey don't! Far better to have the responsibility lie with you, instead of out.

This is very handy plugin, protecting you against brute-force password-crack attacks. It keeps track of the IP address of every check over here login attempt. You can configure the plugin to disable login attempts for a selection of IP addresses when a certain number of attempts is reached.

Now see here we're getting into things specific to WordPress. You have to rename it to config.php and modify the file config-sample.php, when you install WordPress. You need to deploy the database facts there.

Change your password, or at least admin username and your WordPress password and collect and use good WordPress safety tips to keep hackers out!
